Quick update now the computer is working.

After removing the wheel nuts (two of which got damaged) I painted up the tyres and spoke insert and put them back together:

Image

I have added a wash, and will be scratch building new wheel nuts from plastic card and sprue (Bottom of picture above)

The gearbox has had a piece of plastic card glued on and sanded into shape so that it fits better. I know that the underside will probably never be seen, but I have done it anyway.

Image

I have also had to put a strip of thin plastic along the edge of the doors as this detail was lost when removing the glazing:

I am pleased to report that the replacement glazing from Airfix arrived on Saturday, well packaged and intact. Nice one Airfix, an excellent service. :wanw

After a final round of sanding and polishing I put on a coat of primer:

Image

The window frame repair looks OK, and the newly acquired glazing fits in neatly:

Image

The primer has revealed a couple of sink marks by the lights that need dealing with, and a couple of blemishes on the back that will need further attention. Why oh why did I go for a silver coloured scheme?

Nice save on the window frame Chip.

It's not too late to change the colour scheme either!

You could use the same markings with camouflage like this rather faded example.

Now there's a nice idea, thanks for the link Tim.

I have had to do another repair job on the top of the window frame on the other side which I had missed earlier:

Image

Due to all the work I have already put into this I decided to go with a basic interior of car style brown:

Love the chocolate brown interior. Good work on fixing the frames too.

Now you just reminded me I must remember to paint the sidewalls of the cars. Somehow that was lost to me.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

With the off side B' pillar missing, it looks pretty cool. Are you thinking of going with this idea, or replacing the missing one?
I wish, that I knew what was doing!

Coming along really well. That interior looks almost chocolaty, I could eat it!

Airfix came up trumps with the glazing, can't complain there!

Looking great so far.

This is great work going on here! You know what's most frustrating about this, though? Airfix has a new tool injection moulded DB5 in 1/32 available that they could have issued when Skyfall came out as a 50th anniversary tie-in... reworking the Scalextric model as they did with the GT3s and WRCs:

http://www.jadlamracingmodels.co.uk/ima ... -Aston.gif;

They could even just have used the body shell and packaged it with the old kit interior if they wanted to cut corners!

Really good work that you're doing there, Chip!

Your interior looks good in chocolate, I like it :) And Airfix came up trumps with replacing your glazing, it'll look good when it's in!

Sorry, Zee...thanks for the invite, but I'll be lucky to get my Mirage done in time; I can't hack doing two things at once...
