My energies have been unleashed...
I also masked and painted the Skyhawk, the Rampaging Scorpion and printed and sealed the decals for the Scooter...
Not bad for an "Elderly Labrador"

Can't andrew just get on with his build without a storm of puns?
After all, they aren't even punny.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
A couple of paint issues to deal with, the demarkation lines, and a paint blob
Nothing too bad though!
Cheers

Enjoying it. It's a really nice relaxing build. Good fit, simple paint scheme, and the Debden Jug decals look nice too.PaulBradley wrote:Looks good, Andrew.
A good way to start the Modelling Year.

Every dog has his day. So today was sorting out the paint issues:
The white ETO stripes need to go on next.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
First day teaching today, and predictably, time for modelling was limited to about 20 minutes.
Just time to mask the rudder and cowl and spray with Vallejo white primer (and spray the belly tank steel and the bombs dark green). The sprue with the underwing stores is visible at top right in the photos.
This has good covering power and opacity, so it makes painting white over dark colours easy.
I'll put a coat of actual white paint over it tomorrow to make it a smoother finish.
Cheers

Nicely done, this is progressing well. I have found that Vallejo white primer covers well if airbrushed but doesn't have the same powers of opacity if hand painted (as I discovered on the missiles of my F-4J), although that is typical of most acrylics I suppose.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Re: Andrew's Prezzie: A Christmas Jug
I've not tried hand brushing it myself, but it's great to have a white colour that doesn't have to be applied first before the dark colours. It makes painting a much easier jobShaunW wrote:Nicely done, this is progressing well. Tamiya fine white primer is also excellent, but much, much smellier
cheers
