It's a stocky little aeroplane, but it looks good

Coming along nicely Andrew, I was wondering how to add some interest to my all-over silver machine, now I know.

There are always some bits which will have either a slightly different colour, or a slightly different reflectivity, even if the whole aircraft has the same metallic paint applied all over. Just a small difference in mattness or a slightly different shade is enough to give it visual interest.

I really like my Vallejo washes, which really give subtle changes to the colours of the Vallejo metallics, and are very easy to apply (always a factor! ).

cheers

I tried gluing the upper wing in position tonight.

I'm not convinced it is strong enough on the three cabane struts, but hopefully when I get the broken one in place the whole structure will be more rigid.

Plan A failed, as the wing fell off as soon as I touched it this morning

Plan B:

Add the fourth cabane strut, and when that's set, then put the wing on!

Here we are, all cabane struts on and painted black. The rear struts have been lengthened by 1 mm to get the wing level.

In principle, the upper wing is now ready for remounting.

That's not going to happen until Thursday or Friday, we're going out of town for a little break :)
Free internet at the hotel, but no modelling facilities

A dry fit went pretty well though

You forgot the all important "with wife, kids and in-laws"

I need something to keep me sane. But if I have to settle for you lot...

Anyhow, after steak, and a chocolatey dessert and a lot moderate quantity of wine, I can now relax and read the erudite and witty prose eloquently presented on this august forum. :)
