But the F-22 was also called the Lightning II too - before they settled on the name "Raptor".

The wing-tips of early Grumman Bearcats had explosive charges embedded in them designed to blow them off if too much G (over 7.5G) is pulled to save damaging the whole airframe and possibly the pilot!

Trouble with that is that they often didn't blow at the same time, or only one activated, causing more problems than it was worth.

The modifications made to the AT-6s for the film Tora! Tora! Tora! to turn them in to A6M Zeros actually gave a slight increase in the Harvard's performance!

The same goes for The Final Countdown. Maybe they should have kept the design anyway.

Those Harvard/Zeros have appeared in quite a few films and TV shows.
