Re: Oh, Dear! - It's 2019 and My Stash Continues to Grow!
Just got a freebee from work. Roden 1/72 SE5A it looks a great little kit with plenty of options (this some nice goodies for the spares box) and plenty of choice for markings.
All the best.

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

I think - ..."when will you finally grow up ..."
I know this question personally ... This question was asked by my mother, wife, mirror ...
I am with you, Jim!

Re: Oh, Dear! - It's 2019 and My Stash Continues to Grow!
While on vacation and then while in hospital, some "backorders" showed up
I'm really not sure what I might have posted before, but here we go.
AFV Club 1/35 M728 CEV. A big box, full of parts. It's an older (a few years) kit, re-released with no change that I know of. I have no real attachment to the vehicle itself and not much in-service exposure as it was mostly serviced by engineers 3rd shop. I got a set of Fruil T142 tracks to weigh it down but other than that it'll be an OOB build whenever I get to it.
You may remember I posted a build/review of the AFV Club 1/35 M54A2. Real Models has come out with 2 conversion sets (perhaps more) - one for the M52 tractor and one for the M543 wrecker, both vehicles from my service past. The M52 tractor is lower priority and has been put on the shelf, but the M543 keeps (softly) calling my name. I have discovered some discrepancies in the instructions and also believe some parts are not included (like the under side bevel-gear case and drive shaft) but I'm really not going to know about all that until I take the parts out and the M54 kit and go through it all in detail. I have all the US Army TMs I need, so none of this is a problem - just more or less typical in the resin aftermarket world.
Here is the Meng 1/35 Rolls Royce kit. The good news is that you can make one of 2 versions - the 1914 wire-wheel and the later wide-tire version, but why parts for the in-between narrow, solid wheel aren't included I do not know. That would effectively cover all 3 of the Roden kits. OTOH, other than perhaps quality of kits, the multiple versions is the only plus - there is no engine and no interior detail !! Roden has both. Anyway, I have spent little time looking at it as I was absolutely unimpressed by my quick look through the box. Right now my "plan" is to take a few Roden kits and this one, shake 'em up and see if I can make something better.
I think that's got it ...

Managed to complete my Airfix 1/24 red box WWII kit collection this evening with finally getting my paws on the FW190. Well until next month when the Hellcat gets released.

Cosford purchases, seems to have developed a theme
The MAZ 7410 adds to my ever growing collection of MAZ vehicles
also visited the ABCBrushes stand and replaced all my brushes, and then some, plus some rein bits for a harrier and an F/A-18C

I've yet to build a tank transporter and can't understand why I haven't done so I bet both of those beasties will look great when they are done.

Re: Oh, Dear! - It's 2019 and My Stash Continues to Grow!
At Cosford I, again, showed my typical restraint
A couple of early USN ejector seats in white metal for a whole pound looked good for the spares box. Plenty of candidates in the stash for those.
Two cracking etched sets, one for only a smidge under four quid, put a smile on my face . They both have other frets lurking inside the bags.
Air Graphic Models were near our display. Kitaholic, TomW and myself suffered a great deal of difficulty walking past that little stall. I did enquire about opening a SIG account but settled for coming away with a bucket of sunshine
Inspired by Carlos's choice in the Whirlybirds GB, this came in a starter set for just a tenner. And, as reported by Carlos, it does indeed come with the HOT missiles and mountings. Happy days
I just love Sea Knights in Marines Green so this caught my eye straight away. In fab condition and still sealed in it's bags.
Sword have re-released their T.2 with spiffy new markings....straight into my welcoming arms
And my Emhar Demon will soon be on the market
I bought this one from Phil Flory. I've been promising myself one of these for quite a while now. The kit has markings for ZD378 and, in about 1998, I did the first ever Frame 45 repair on this very aircraft.
And a little bit of little armour.
And finally from Cosford.....
Well, it does have "Cold War" written on the box, doesn't it
And, if that wasn't enough, a neighbour was holding this for me while we were away in Shropshire. I was the only bidder for it on eBay. Possibly down to potential buyers thinking that Revell had trotted out their tired old Vampire again. It's actually a re-pop of Azur's brilliant kit and includes alternative bits to make a Mk.5 if you have the decals for it.
I've come to the conclusion that I do have a kit buying problem but, happily, I do have a solution.
I'm going to build more shelves

That's a nice haul Darryl, I've been thinking of getting that T.2/4 Harrier myself. Btw, I only got about £6.00 for my Emhar Demon recently sold on the bay and that took several relistings!

They are pretty accurate realisations of an Officer, US Women’s Army Corps, 1944, a Lieutenant Junior Grade, Women’s Auxiliary Volunteer Service, 1942 and a Lance-Corporal, British ATS, 1940 that appear in The ARMED FORCES of WORLD WAR II Uniforms, insignia and organisation, ISBN 0-85613-296-9Purplethistle wrote:Are the Female soldiers going to be WAAFs WAVEs or WAGs?
