Re: Shane's bench .
I've finally removed all the decorating/bathroom stuff from the model room and given it a little tidy up. Although I'm not bursting with modelling juices at the moment I have found a little time to work on the Tornado for the group build. It's still unlikely to cross the finish line this side of the new year. I also need to finish the Kfir.

The Tornado is looking good, Shane. At the moment I can't see either of my ongoing builds reaching the finish line before the end of the year either.......

Looking good Shane

Thanks Stuart, I'm painting the darker grey in stages to save on masking and leave me somewhere to hold it. I have the AMK kit and a die cut making set for that so I can do the 3 colour camo. The mask set was dearer than the kit, hope it will be worth it.

That Kfir really is progressing very nicely, Shane and I didn't realise that a Mirage IIIE could be loaded up with so many bombs! I'm aware that the E was a fighter-bomber version but even so, that looks fit to rival a Corsair II!

It's certainly tooled up and ready for action, apparently they could carry over 8000lb of payload. I think mine will just have the larger underwing tanks plus Sidewinders unless I can find any Matra Magics in my spares.ShaunW wrote:That Kfir really is progressing very nicely, Shane and I didn't realise that a Mirage IIIE could be loaded up with so many bombs! Masking sets can be very expensive, and in my hands were a disaster both times tried them.shangos70 wrote:Thanks Stuart, I'm painting the darker grey in stages to save on masking and leave me somewhere to hold it. Keeping an area to keep hold of, is what I try and do, but often end up painting myself into a corner
Your doing well.

Your Kfir is looking very neat, always a smart looking aircraft
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Hi,
you know me!! I’ve spent many, many hours strapped to Martin Bakers finest ejection seats of one mark or another. Your Tornado straps need a bit of refinement, colour wise at least, they tend to be a mixture of blue and grey or beige - one for the parachute the others for the seat. A quick ‘Google’ should reveal all.
