I've finally removed all the decorating/bathroom stuff from the model room and given it a little tidy up. Although I'm not bursting with modelling juices at the moment I have found a little time to work on the Tornado for the group build. It's still unlikely to cross the finish line this side of the new year. I also need to finish the Kfir.

The Tornado is looking good, Shane. At the moment I can't see either of my ongoing builds reaching the finish line before the end of the year either.......

I've reopened the desk now the festivities are over. Spurned on by the Mirage GB I am trying to get the Italeri kfir finished off. I will also attempt to make some headway on the stalled Tornado and throw a Revell Mirage III in to the mix.

Thanks Stuart, I'm painting the darker grey in stages to save on masking and leave me somewhere to hold it. I have the AMK kit and a die cut making set for that so I can do the 3 colour camo. The mask set was dearer than the kit, hope it will be worth it.

That Kfir really is progressing very nicely, Shane and I didn't realise that a Mirage IIIE could be loaded up with so many bombs! I'm aware that the E was a fighter-bomber version but even so, that looks fit to rival a Corsair II!

It's certainly tooled up and ready for action, apparently they could carry over 8000lb of payload. I think mine will just have the larger underwing tanks plus Sidewinders unless I can find any Matra Magics in my spares.

Sounds like a good plan in both cases :-D

Masking sets can be very expensive, and in my hands were a disaster both times tried them.
Keeping an area to keep hold of, is what I try and do, but often end up painting myself into a corner

I've been slacking of late but here are a few pictures of the projects still sitting on my bench. I've just noticed the tape belts on the Tornado need re-sticking down. I got a splatter on the Tornado wing so I've had to flat that back.

Hi,
you know me!! I’ve spent many, many hours strapped to Martin Bakers finest ejection seats of one mark or another. Your Tornado straps need a bit of refinement, colour wise at least, they tend to be a mixture of blue and grey or beige - one for the parachute the others for the seat. A quick ‘Google’ should reveal all.
