Wish I had a workstation to make a mess of. I use the dining table so has to be cleared after every session.

Same as that! If that's messy, then mine is a total bombsite! :-D

You're going to have to add another level to that desk shortly if you are to have room for any models - so perfectly normal then.

OK, a completion, finally -- and it seems that both my GB completions have been figures ... go figure :)

American Colonial Marine, ca 1776; 1/32 white metal kit by Art Girona.
Build thread here in the United States Marine Corps GB.

That leaves the review kit which has given me some difficulties and of course I have to write the actual review .... and FLORENCE looks like she wants to be difficult this coming week, so there may not be much bench time. All the other TDs & TSs appear to be just noise but it is exciting to see four of them on the map at once.

Whatever, I have started some of the preliminary work for the remodel, talking the optimistic approach ....

Oh my your Colonial Marine is quite stunning, Mr Ratz!

It must take a steady hand indeed to paint all the tiny accents like those buttons.

Most impressive!

Watching the first track of Florence with growing concern from over the pond; keep your heads down and fingers crossed you escape unscathed. Take care!

Well, Florence is "here", in the form of tropical storm force wind gusts as it crawls slowly toward the coast.

The good news is the track has shifted south so the hurricane effects will bypass us, but I have a lot of friends in the southern half of the state and into S.Carolina who are going to take the brunt. Winds appear down, but storm surge and rainfall will be significant and that will last for days. The wind field has widened and the potential track now cuts inland into NC & SC and then into other states.

I estimate we will have two days of TS effects here, possibly into Saturday. After that it will depend on how much area damage (power, water, etc) we take so that restoration of services is delayed. We are fortunate.

Thank you, we have been very fortunate. The northern Outer Banks (north of Hatteras Inlet) has mostly experienced a good nor'easter that edged into tropical storm conditions. At least Annette & I had good practice in preparing for a storm and living cooped up few several days. You might think it's a good opportunity to get some modeling in, but that's not the case.

The southern Outer Banks (Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands) have had a lot of water, roads blocked, etc, but no word on structural problems yet. However, heading south -- along the Crystal Coast toward Wilmington -- has (and still are) taken the brunt of it. It dropped to a Cat 1 (sustained 90mph, gusts higher), but just crawled slowly along toward shore - a tremendous amount of storm surge has occurred and heavy rains are still expected. The sounds and rivers are filling up and overflowing into the towns, etc. There is more to come and then the water has to drain back out of the sounds/rivers which can extend all this for weeks. The overall impact is pushing many historical storm events out of the record books.

Most of the members of my model club, and many other friends, live in that area.
