1/72 / Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a / Revell 04323
Hello all,
this is a Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a built around 2009 still with stretched sprue rigging. It was a present from my wife (brought from a job training in another city) and with this model I started using decal solutions, otherwise it was impossible to get no silvering in the transparent portions of the RAF nightfighter roundels
The wooden parts were created with brown oil colour on beige background and are probably a little dark, looking just a little like Grandma's living room furniture...
But I like this warm shade
Thanks for looking
KM

I like to carve old kits into something roughly aircraft/tank shaped...

Good job.
All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

Looks very good indeed
Best wishes

Given the age of the kit you have made a very good job with that one.

That's a fine job on the old classic. Were the markings with the kit? I don't remember them from mine.
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Beautiful job and the effort was worth it on those decals - perfectly blended.

Yes they were part of the kit. At one point in time Revell changed from two options to one option on their entry level range, only changing the catalogue number, not the box art.
I really don't like this, choosing the colour scheme is part of the fun!

That is a grand little model, very effective especially with the relatively unusual markings.

That’s excellent. Seeing models like yours is what inspires me to keep soldiering on!

Great job, KM, the SE is one of my favourite WWI types.
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

That's a shame - it's always nice to have decal options.KellerModeller wrote: ↑March 8th, 2024, 11:43 pmYes they were part of the kit. At one point in time Revell changed from two options to one option on their entry level range, only changing the catalogue number, not the box art.

That's lovely, I really like the shade of PC10 you used and those markings are quite unusual. I know it's 15 years ago, but do you happen to remember what you used to get that nice satin finish?
Re: 1/72 / Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a / Revell 04323
Very nice, I remember this option. I have one SE5a kit left and it has only one choice of markings, 111 Sqn, in the Middle East, 04061. Often wonder if the Vickers was removed on this aircraft as it must have been a night vision destroyer if fired.
